His research uncovered critical insights into how deficient autophagy in coronary arterial smooth muscle cells (CASMCs) could lead to atherosclerosis, with a particular focus on the role of lysosomal dysfunction in vascular calcification.ince December 2021, Dr. Bhat has been serving as a Scientist-D and Ramalingaswami Fellow at the Department of Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences, Central University of Kashmir.
