Dr. Sufian Zaheer’s journey into the medical world began with his pursuit of a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. Graduating in 2003, he displayed an early inclination toward pathology, which he further cemented by pursuing a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pathology from the same prestigious institution, awarded in September 2006. His thesis, titled “Clinicopathological Correlation, Prognostic Evaluation, and Predictive Significance of Renal Biopsy in Nephrotic Syndrome”, underscored his passion for combining clinical insights with microscopic investigations.

Dr. Zaheer’s illustrious career spans over a decade and a half, where he has worn multiple hats, from educator to researcher and clinician. His academic career is marked by numerous roles:

• Professor of Pathology at VMMC and Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, since November 9, 2017.
• Prior to this, he served as Associate Professor at the same institution between November 9, 2013, and November 8, 2017, and as Assistant Professor between November 9, 2012, and November 8, 2013.
• Before his tenure in New Delhi, Dr. Zaheer was an Assistant Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University from November 17, 2011, to November 8, 2012.
• His teaching experience is vast, having instructed students in MBBS, BDS, DMLT, and MD (Pathology) programs in several renowned institutions.

In addition to his teaching roles, he had a brief stint as a Research Assistant at Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA, from July to October 2010. Here, he immersed himself in cutting-edge research, adding international experience to his professional profile.
