She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1997. Driven by a keen interest in microbiology, she pursued a Master’s degree in Microbiology from Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, completing it in 2000. Her academic excellence continued as she undertook an M.Phil. in Microbiology from Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) in 2007, where she conducted significant research on the contamination of dry spices by aerobic spore formers and coliform bacteria. She culminated her academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Mewar University in 2017, focusing on the incidence and identification of multiple drug-resistant bacteria in food and water.

Dr. Kaur’s professional career is marked by extensive experience in the field of microbiology. She currently serves as the Lab Incharge at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) in Kundli, Sonipat, Haryana, a position she has held since June 2011. Before this, she was the Section Head Microbiologist at Eko Pro Engineers Pvt Ltd in Ghaziabad from June 2009 to May 2011 and at Avon Food Lab in Delhi from May 2006 to May 2009. Her career began as a Trainee Microbiologist at Nestle India Limited in Moga, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in the food industry.
