Dr. Priya Vinayak Tumram began her academic journey with a strong foundation in the sciences. She completed her S.S.C. in 2006 and her H.S.S.C. in 2008 from the Maharashtra State Board in Pune, securing impressive marks of 81.6% and 81%, respectively. Her undergraduate studies at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, culminated in a B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science with a commendable 76.37% in 2011. She continued her academic excellence with an M.Sc. in Physics from the same university in 2013, achieving 73.4%.

Professional Endeavors

Dr. Tumram’s professional career took a significant leap when she became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Amolakchand Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal. She has been serving in this position since March 5, 2020, on a full-time regular and permanent basis. Her teaching repertoire includes both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, such as Atomic & Molecular Physics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Mechanics, Properties of Matter, Oscillations & Relativity, Electrostatics, Magnetostatics, Ultrasonic Waves and Acoustics, and Network Theorems.

Contributions and Research Focus

Dr. Tumram’s research interests lie in Materials Science, Luminescence, and the synthesis and study of phosphor materials for solar cells. Her Ph.D. thesis, titled “Nanophosphors for Solar Energy Conversion,” was supervised by Prof. Smita A. Acharya and co-supervised by Dr. Sanjiv V. Moharil at the Department of Physics, R.T.M. Nagpur University. This work significantly contributes to the field of renewable energy and material science.
