She embarked on her academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) from Skuast-Jammu in 2012. Following this, she pursued a Master's degree in Veterinary Microbiology (M.V.Sc. & A.H.) from the same institution in 2014. Her passion for understanding microbial pathogens and bacterial infections led her to delve deeper into the realm of Bacteriology. Driven by a relentless pursuit of knowledge, she completed her Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology from Guru Angad Dev University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Ludhiana, Punjab, in 2019.
Professional Endeavors
Armed with a strong academic foundation, She ventured into the professional landscape. She has been making significant contributions to the field of Bacteriology through her multifaceted roles and diverse experiences. Dr. Javed serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dairy Microbiology at Sher-e-kashmir University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (Jammu) since June 2023. In this capacity, she continues to contribute to the academic and research domains. In her previous roles, she worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology at Sher-e-kashmir University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (Jammu) from November 2020 to August 2021. Her dedication to education is further underscored by her stint as a Visiting Lecturer at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bengaluru, KA, India, from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Javed served as an Assistant Technology Manager in the ATMA Scheme under the Ministry of Agriculture for a year from January 2015 to December 2015. Additionally, she worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Educational and Social Studies in Bengaluru from August 2017 to September 2018.
Contributions and Research Focus in Bacteriology
Her research journey is marked by two significant projects during her academic pursuits. In her Master's research, she focused on "Molecular detection and virulence characterization of Streptococci in equines." For her Ph.D., she delved into "Studies on the diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis using Fluorescence polarization assay and in situ hybridization." Her expertise encompasses various aspects of Veterinary Microbiology, with a particular emphasis on livestock investigation, zoonotic diseases, and the molecular diagnosis of bacterial infections.
