Author Profile
Early Academic Pursuits
Krishna Pal Singh embarked on his academic journey with a solid foundation in the sciences. He completed his Matriculation (10th grade) at G.I.C Baun Panjiyala Uttarkashi in June 2008, followed by his Intermediate (10+2) studies at G.I.C Matli Uttarkashi, finishing in June 2010. He then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at SMJN PG College Haridwar, affiliated with HNBGU Srinagar, which he completed in June 2014. His academic trajectory continued with a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Physics from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya Haridwar, where he worked on a dissertation titled “Synthesis and Characterization of CdO: ZnO by Optical property”, graduating in June 2016.
Professional Endeavors
Krishna Pal Singh’s professional journey in the field of physics took a significant turn when he enrolled in the Ph.D. program at P.N.G. Govt. P.G. College Ramnagar, Nainital in August 2019. His doctoral research focuses on the “Study of Radon Generation and Transport from the Soil to Environment in Uttarkashi region of Garhwal Himalaya”. This research is pivotal in understanding environmental radiation dynamics in the Himalayan region, contributing to broader environmental and public health knowledge.
Contributions and Research Focus
Singh’s research primarily centers around environmental physics, with a specific focus on radon transport mechanisms. His work aims to elucidate how radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, moves from soil into the environment, particularly in the geologically unique region of the Garhwal Himalaya. This research is crucial for developing effective radon mitigation strategies and understanding the environmental impact of radon emissions.
Accolades and Recognition
Throughout his academic and professional career, Singh has actively participated in notable conferences, showcasing his research findings and contributing to the scientific community. In March 2023, he presented at the First International Conference on Radiation Awareness and Detection in Natural Environment, organized jointly by several prestigious institutions including Dolphin PG Institute of Biological and Natural Sciences and HNB Garhwal University. In November 2022, he was a part of the 2nd International Conference on Aerosols, Air Quality, and Climate Change over the Himalayan Region of Uttarakhand, organized by the Department of Physics and IQAC at HNB Garhwal University.
Impact and Influence
Krishna Pal Singh’s research has significant implications for environmental health and safety, particularly in regions prone to high radon emissions. By understanding the pathways and factors influencing radon transport, his work helps in formulating guidelines and safety measures to protect communities in radon-prone areas. His contributions to conferences and academic discourse underscore his role in advancing knowledge in environmental radiation.
