Dr. Amit Kumar Kesharwani is a highly accomplished Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Plant Pathology at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center, Washington State University, USA, where he advances cutting-edge research in microbiology, molecular biology, plant–microbe interactions, and plant pathology. His work focuses on antimicrobial resistance in Erwinia amylovora and the development of CRISPR/Cas12a-based diagnostic platforms for X-disease phytoplasma, contributing significantly to next-generation plant disease detection technologies. Prior to joining WSU, he served as a Scientist (Microbiology) at Absolute Foods in India and held key research positions at premier institutions including ICAR-IARI, Gautam Buddha University, CSIR-CIMAP, Delhi University South Campus, and CSIR-IHBT. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Biotechnology with impactful research on Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, an M.Sc. in Microbiology, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Dr. Kesharwani has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards, invited talks, editorial responsibilities, and international travel grants, reflecting his research excellence and leadership.
