Dr. Ashish Kumar Tewari embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Physics from Lucknow University in 1991. He pursued a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from Kanpur University in 1993. His academic excellence continued with a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Lucknow University in 2000. His doctoral research focused on the synthesis and mass spectral studies of nitrogen bicyclic and tricyclic heterocyclic compounds of biological importance, laying a strong foundation for his future contributions to the field.

Dr. Tewari has amassed extensive experience in research and teaching. He began his career as a lecturer at JLNMPG College, Barabanki, and subsequently held research associate positions at the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai. His industrial experience includes working as a research scientist at Lupin Research Park. Since 2004, Dr. Tewari has been a faculty member at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), where he progressed from Assistant Professor to Professor in the Department of Chemistry.
