Dr. Saurabh Saran is a distinguished Microbiologist and Fermentation Scientist with over sixteen years of post-PhD experience in applied research, technology development, and industrial biotechnology, particularly in microbial fermentation and bioprocess engineering. He holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Delhi, where his doctoral work focused on protease production and industrial applications. Currently serving as Senior Principal Scientist at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, and Principal Investigator at IIIM-Technology Business Incubator, he has led several projects on microbial strain engineering, scale-up fermentation, and downstream processing, achieving successful industrial technology transfers, including a major project on bacterial cellulose membranes for drug delivery. His prolific research contributions include more than 59 peer-reviewed publications, 8 patents, and several edited volumes in biotechnology, with a citation count of 3543, h-index of 26, and i10-index of 32. Dr. Saran’s research interests encompass industrial enzymes, biochemicals, biofuels, nutraceuticals, and microbial biotechnology.
