Dr. Himanshu Patel’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from South Gujarat University in April 1998, followed by a Master of Science in Organic Dyes in April 2000. His passion for environmental studies led him to pursue an M.Phil. in the characterization and treatment of wastewater from dyeing mills and a Ph.D. in the same field, focusing on wastewater from textile mills.

Dr. Patel’s career spans various roles in academia and industry. He has worked as a chemist at companies like Colourtex Ltd., Atul Ltd., and Reliance Industries Ltd., gaining valuable experience in research and development. He has also served as a Senior Executive in the Research and Development Division at Sahajanand Medical Tech. Pvt. Ltd. and as Deputy Technical Manager at En-vision Engineering Pvt. Ltd. Currently, he holds the position of Assistant Professor at Pacific School of Engineering, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, and environmental auditing.

Dr. Patel’s research interests revolve around the characterization and treatment of textile effluent. His work includes the removal of color, COD, BOD, and other contaminants through physico-chemical treatments like adsorption and coagulation. He specializes in surface chemistry of adsorbents, adsorption of dyes from aqueous solutions, and the synthesis and characterization of hydroxyquinoline derivatives with antifungal properties. His contributions in these areas have advanced our understanding of wastewater treatment methodologies and environmental protection.
