Dr. Mukherjee embarked on his academic journey in West Bengal, India. In 2009, he completed his secondary education with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) and earned an impressive 88.87%. Continuing his academic commitment, he graduated from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) in 2009, achieving 86.40%. Motivated by a vision to enhance infrastructure and public safety, Dr. Mukherjee pursued a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), completing the program in 2013 with a CGPA of 9.18/10. This foundational education provided him with a strong base in civil engineering principles.Following his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Mukherjee advanced to an M.Tech program in Transportation Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar. His performance was stellar, as he graduated with a CGPA of 9.08/10 in 2015. Driven by a passion for research and innovation, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where he pursued and completed his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering. Between 2015 and 2021, his research focused on critical areas of road safety evaluation in developing countries, helping shape his future work.

After earning his Ph.D., he joined the SaveLIFE Foundation, a leading organization in India focused on road safety, as a Team Leader in Road Safety and Audits.
