Dr. Devendra Pathrot’s journey in the field of medicine began with his strong academic foundation. Born on February 4, 1986, to Mr. Siddappa in Karnataka, India, Dr. Pathrot’s early education was marked by excellence. He completed his SSLC from S.G. Shintri Eng. Med. High School in Saundatti, Karnataka, in 2003 with flying colors. His pre-university education was at J.S.S PU College, Dharwad, where he excelled in 2005. Pursuing his passion for medicine, he earned his MBBS degree from BMC & RI Bangalore under RGUHS University in December 2009, again demonstrating his academic prowess by clearing his exams on the first attempt. He further specialized in Orthopaedics, obtaining his MS from University College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital, Delhi University, in May 2015, followed by a DNB in Orthopaedics from the National Board of Examinations in December 2015.

🩺Professional Endeavors

Dr. Pathrot’s professional journey is a testament to his dedication and expertise in orthopaedics. His clinical work began as a Junior Resident at UCMS & GTB Hospital in Delhi from June 2012 to May 2015. Post his residency, he served as a Consultant Orthopaedic at Sunrise Hospital, Kerala, before taking up the role of Senior Resident at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he worked from February 2017 to April 2019. He continued his service as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Rotary Charitable Hospital, Karnataka, until January 2021. Currently, he is an esteemed Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at SDM College of Medical Science and Hospital, Dharwad, Karnataka, where he continues to impart knowledge and treat patients with dedication.

His thesis, “Assessment of The Geometry of Proximal Femur for the Placement of Proximal Femoral Nails-An Observational Study in Dry Femora and Living Subjects,” is a notable work submitted to Delhi University in April 2014. Noteworthy among them is his role as a primary author in the study on femur geometry published in the Indian Journal of Orthopaedics and his co-authorship in research on lower limb fractures and arthroscopic management of popliteal cysts.
