Subsequently, he joined KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, as an Assistant Professor from July 2017 to October 2020. His role involved teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities.Since November 2020, Dr. Kumar has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Manipur, Imphal, India. His current role encompasses lectures, lab work, research, and various administrative duties.
